.T H E. W I L D. S I D E.

So my experience at Wildfitness is almost over!

I ve put my body through a serious workout. Haven't done this much exercise in a long time. Feels good though.

This company has the answers for future fitness by going back to the past. The whole concept of Wildfitness is so clever and really allows you to visualise how your body should actual move and work. Sometimes we do not think about movement as it happened naturally, but with so much technology and other modern aspects influencing our lives you can see how our bodies have adapted over time.

For instance......who taught you to run?
Exactly - no one!
It is a natural movement that we just progressed into. Acts as part of our flight response.

I thought I ran fairly normally and pretty well (although not particularly fast). But when going under a running assessment I was able to see that my form was all wrong, my pony tail was bobbing up and down, my heel touched the ground first and my legs did not make the classic number 4 shape. We were told to run with our hips. This doesn't mean hips forward and chest back arms flailing everywhere! Now that would be an entertaining sight! But instead of our chests leaning forward, loosing our balance and for our feet to come forward, we were told to push with the hips.

It was all very fascinating and I actually had to concentrate when running! A bizarre thought but true.

We've run through tree nurseries, swam 4k across the creek, lifted drift wood, kick boxed, worked on our free diving, and had plenty of fun on the beach.

I was very kindly invited to some friends of Jens last night (Claire and Roy), mainly to meet their new puppy Shirabi. She is the cutest, podgiest black lab pupp. She had plenty of play mates.....6 other dogs to be precise. Claire and Roys company was lovely and their hospitality was so kind.

5k run tomorrow - interval style. I am a tad nervous! But the meal and cocktails in the evening at Pilipan will get me through it! Treat from Wildfitness couches!
