.F L O W E R. S H O W.

Saturday morning, after another successful Friday night at OS, we headed down to Kilifi to Mnarani Hotel for the flower show.

It reminded me of Out of Africa somehow, don't really know why - plenty of elderly white folk having jolly lovely time looking at the jolly lovely flowers. Was all a bit old fashioned and dated. But still glorious none the less.

It seemed to be quite a competitive occasion as well as four stalls stuck out to me in particular. It was obviously a contest as who cold make the best 'miniature garden.' Well of course you had your classic Winnie the Pooh garden.....wait what!? My personal favourite was the 'Home Sweet Home' garden.

A room was sectioned off to display the most beautiful orchids. Really impressive stuff. Exotic colours. Will forever remind me of my mother. She would send us off to our new university homes with an orchid and say 'If you can keep this alive through uni - you'll sail through just fine.' I'd like to say I kept mine alive - all three of them....one after the other died !!!

Vegetable tables were displayed and other pretty plants dotted around the whole place. They  had put a lunch on with a variety of choice - sausages or quiche, oh and don't forget the black forest pudding!
So naturally we decided to lunch in the main hotel - burger and chips!

The four 'miniature gardens'
