So Friday 8.30am........ IS the weekend.
I was fortunate enough to be invited by the very kind and generous Paolo Parazzi to make the journey from Kilifi to Watamu on a very very cool boat.
8 of us jumped into a taxi at 8.30am from Watamu (making a quick stop off at Simon's supermarket for essentials - had no idea at this point that Maddy already had delicious steak in her cool box....she sure as hell knows how to pic nic. Maddy you babe.)to Kilifi.
We arrived at were taken to an awesome boat. Callum and Stu set up rods out the back (spot the fishermen) Ben organised his SUP and Paolo got straight onto sorting shit out...mainly starting the boat. The massive engines roared and we were of. Us girls found ourselves a nice sunny spot on the deck and enjoyed viewing the incredible Kilifi creek houses.
We cruzed through the sea with the journey lasting around 4 hours.
Food and drinks were shared as well as everyone's taste in music. We did the classic jumping off the boat whilst squealing and Ben had an awesome SUP session on his new Redpaddle boards. Evening took a rod with him.
Once we got closer to Whale rock in Watamu, just opposite the mouth of Mida Creek, Paolo said there was a shipwreck we could all go and dive down to. It was AWESOME. Tried very hard to go and touch it but my equalising was not up to scratch.
And to top it off....on the final stretch of sea some dolphins come and say hi!
One of my best days I have had here I reckon. I am very lucky. Thank you Paolo.
